budgeted amount out of their fifth grade line item.

Next submission of boxtops is end of February- we only have approximately $150 to date.
STEM Night
Thinking about doing something for students during day.

JC’s raffle- They are meeting and will get back to us.

TV gaming system, summer fun, hotel at mall with Nickelodeon Universe passes or Great Wolf Stay.
Mason’s will volunteer.
Men of Action (high school group) will help
Youth Task Force will be responsible for projecting movie “Wonder” at end of event.
Cost for film license will be $475.
Need someone to look into food options: (Planning on selling tickets for food options)
May ask Lions to sell hot dogs

Looking at more “fair food” options. Some ideas are:
funnel cakes
- sno cones
pretzels and nacho cheese
Need someone to looking into inflatables – Ann and Nick Kivel volunteered.
Silent Auction- Teachers will help with this. They will split the proceeds with the PTA. The
proceeds the teachers earn will be applied to the teacher’s portion of next year’s scholarship.
Add Spirit Wear to Family Fun Night too
Looking at getting several professional hockey players to come and have kids “shoot on them”.
Have connections with Stalock and Wilcox but as of yet have not approached. (Would
consider this a “premium” activity and would sell tickets for it.
Mini- Golf? Still need to look into this option.
Need signage for outdoor activities.
No prizes – may make up a punch card.

Proposal: Pharmacy in town will give us space for 10% of sales. Start with 3-4 items in toddler and youth sizes- probably t-shirt, sweatshirt, maybe stocking hats. Adult sweatshirts will probably be an option but will have to be pre-ordered (there will be a sample at the pharmacy to look at). Items will be “Packer” gear not specific to Lincoln Center. Have permission from Principal, Mike Fugazzi to proceed.
Artist produced a mock up of what the wall would look like. Be Lincoln … is the theme.
Cost would be $750 to put art work on the wall.
Once wall completed we would host a dedication, invite news medium. Maybe do in
conjunction with our winter movie night or some other event that a lot of parents are likely to attend.
Will make sure to highlight the fact that boxtop money paid for this.
May sell a “Be Lincoln” t shirt for the dedication. Pam Bakken will research search info.

Grade level allotment: $13/child is an increase of $3/child.

Elaine Lehmann motioned to approve the 2017-18 budget. Nikki Harrison seconded. All in favor. Motion carried.
Election:
In an attempt to stagger elections of executive board so that there is not a total turnover of
board members every 2 years, we will elect vice president and treasurer odd years and President and secretary on even years.

Call for additional nominees. None offered.
Pam motioned for Nikki Harrison to be elected as Vice President for 2017-2019 term and for

Spirit wear: Currently working on designs. Should be available by conferences.
BooHoo YahHoo: Dawn Kelly
Didn’t have volunteers this year to have event in library so set up a table in kindergarten hallway. Didn’t work well.
If goal is to introduce PTA to kindergarten parents think we should consider creating a
kindergarten parent “survival packet” that the parents would be given at their teacher meeting the first 2 days of school. Should get feedback from kindergarten teachers to see if this is workable. Could still have a quick meeting/snack in library on first day of kindergarten if there is support and interest.
Connection Day: table received some attention but think we should get on “passport” next year so that
parents have to stop by table.
On the Road Again: LCPTA will be there. We need volunteers.
Costume Party:
Need volunteers.
Bottle wall: $20/bottle. Looking for bottles. Have 20% currently donated. Will be
decorated like 50’s soda shop. Considering 1950’s soda with gift card to establishment.
Will have 50 state baskets auction, bottle wall, casino tables, best costume contest
Food (50’s theme): sliders, fries, jello parfaits, celery & peanut butter
Last year 120 people
NEW BUSINESS:
Need to form a bond money allocation team.
School spirit painting: Pam met with artist and will have her paint several 1st grade windows.
Not sure what will be on windows, maybe #PACKER. If we like this painting maybe we’ll
use painter for school spirit painting throughout school . This is one idea for usage of some of the bond money.
PTA website needs a volunteer to maintain the site. Nikki Harrison is currently trying to keep it updated.

$1625.27 Checking money moved from Wells Fargo account to new account at Bremer earlier this year.
Looking for several invoices (NW fruits, Hunley)
Joint fish fry vs. individual fish fry? No difference
Next year’s budget looks like it should be about $25,000.00
How fund Lincoln Center Scholarship (given annually to a graduating senior who attended Lincoln Center)?
Pam suggested “mini golf tournament”-
Each grade level would make a hole
Holes could be judged and winning grade level awarded a prize (pizza
party or ice cream party maybe)
Savings CD:
$25,000 would be better deal than $20,000.
Lori recommends we make a decision as to how to allocate these funds this year
Possible options:
Playground:
Talk to Education Foundation- will they help with playground?
Ongoing scholarship:
If give to Education foundation they will guarantee $1000.00/year toward Lincoln Center scholarship.
Wayne’s Way- (proposed program to honor Wayne Otto)
Help set up this program which will probably consist of a variety of new products to be made available for kids in need.
MATTERBox –healthier boxed foods
Pam Bakken made motion to open a $25,000.00 CD. Stephanie Sparks seconded the motion.
Yearbooks:
Yearbooks are not here yet.
Elections:
Stephanie Sparks (for Treasurer) and Nikki Harrison (Vice President) are running unopposed for a two year term for their above mentioned positions.
Staff Appreciation Week: Stephanie Sparks chair
Was 1 week early
Good feedback
In future should consider not providing breakfast (especially Monday morning) unless delivered to rooms.
Should send flier to each teacher described weeks events
Next year would be a good idea for 2 people to provide massages.
Provide all day – not just lunch- should have sign up timesheet so teachers can schedule massage time slot.
Trash to Treasure (Box tops, etc.):

Closure of Well’s Fargo Accounts: (Pam Bakken presented information on Cat’s behalf)
Cat researched moving box top savings to CD:
Wakota Federal has best return for CD but has 3 year term.
Recommend putting $20,000 in Bremer CD for 1 year.
Remaining money will be held out as emergency fund (playground repair , etc.)
Still need to form committee to determine how to use these funds we’re placing in the CD. (Inclusive playground or something else)

* Nikki Harrison asked about summer school. Theresa replied that there is a team of teachers

Have approximately $20,000 for next year budget already. Still have more fund raising to do.
Inclusive Playground- (Cat Rongitsch)
Spoke with Molly (Cottage Grove). They are installing a 24,000 sq. ft. inclusive playground this
August. This is the 5th year of their process. Cost is approx. $750,000.
Our current playground is 8056 sq. ft. Basketball court 15,000+ sq. ft. Total = 24,800 sq. ft.
Our current playground was built in 1998. Don’t need to rip entire playground out to change
space. As long as use same installer can add a few pieces.
Rubberized ground and ramps will cost the most.
How and where fund? (Cottage Grove)
Community build saves 20%
Donations: “tiles of giving”, Go Fund me brought in $5000,
Because city park, they received money from city budget.
60-75% came community
Repair: Playground equipment built to last 15 years. Woodbury inclusive playground has
already needed to replace some things. Need to account for that in our planning.
Cat’s dream:
$218,000 is 1/3. If we can raise $225,000 should be able to tear out playground and build new. Will take more than 3-5 years. Lincoln Center can contribute $30,000.
If add on could be under $100,000. Will request sensory and handicap ideas.
Should have someone to bid and check out space. MN/Wi Playground Co (Hopkins).
Can we get city help?
Can we get help from Lions?, etc. and Community businesses?
Can we get district money?
Cat will continue research.

2017 minutes. Nikki Harrison seconded. All in favor. Motion carried.

where to send money. We will send ½ sheet reminder with envelope out to all students as follow up.
3 Accounts: Checking – Savings – Certificate of Deposit
Explained that our goal is to spend this year brainstorming project ideas. We would like
to have funds ready to spend or at least allocate the Certificate of Deposit funds by June 2018.
2017-18 Budget submitted for discussion and approval.
Grade level allotment: $13/child is an increase of $3/child.
Science Night has been changed to STEM Night and budget increased by $1250. With
thought to outsource as we do not currently have a chair to work on this and it’s very labor intensive.
Increased budget for Family Fun Night.
Nikki Harrison only nominee for Vice President
Stephanie Sparks only nominee for Treasurer
Call for additional nominees. None offered.
Pam motioned for Nikki Harrison to be elected as Vice President for 2017-2019 term and for

Campbell’s soup labels ending this year- need before Christmas vacation.
Box tops earn us $2000-$3000/yr without sweepstakes wins.
Christa Seaberg motioned to adjourn. Stephanie Sparks seconded. All in favor. Motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:48pm. The minutes were recorded by Dawn Kelly.

Update not presented as Deb Stoven wasn’t present at meeting.

Repair: Playground equipment built to last 15 years. Woodbury inclusive playground has
